An Introduction to Contemplative Practice
This meditation focuses on the intention, attention, and attitude we cultivate in our meditative practice. We start by finding a comfortable posture and breathing consciously. We relax the body, releasing tension in the jaw, face, throat, shoulders, and abdomen. We direct our attention to the breath, observing how the air enters and exits. The practice of attention is complemented by exploring our intention and attitude, fostering patience, openness, and curiosity. We focus on the present, without judgment, accepting our experience with compassion. This meditation invites us to deeply connect with ourselves and internalize nourishing experiences.
